👩🏻Menmin Made and me
Menmin Made is a brand launched by Paulina Hoong with the purpose of making art accessible to people from all cultures and brighten up any space. She is a Chinese American entrepreneur/artist and her parents immigrated to the U.S. in 1985 and started a Chinese restaurant in Minnesota. She named her brand after her Chinese name, “Menmin” as a way to connect with her roots. I found Menmin Made on Instagram. As a fellow Asian woman and a business owner, I would love to support her work. What I love about her products is the use of bright watercolors and the cute and playful illustrations of Asian food. In Japan, I feel that racism and xenophobia, especially toward China and the Chinese people, are getting even more threatening nowadays. However, as a Japanese person who experienced living in Europe, I have always felt the sense of unity with Chinese people. It was always them who helped me and made my life in Amsterdam easier.
🥬This is my favorite tote bag from Menmin Made! I use it for grocery shopping. I personally love this one because it reminds me of an anime I used to watch as a kid: Yasai no Yosei (Vegetable Fairies: N.Y. Salad). This tote bag is HUGE! It can fit 3 big watermelons, so it’s perfect for grocery shopping. Other than your shopping bag not being large enough, we also have this problem: we cannot find our credit card and keys in our bags after shopping. Don’t worry! This tote bag has an inner pocket with zipper, so you can put your keys, credit cards, money, earbuds, etc.
